About the role
Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Site Engineer to oversee and manage the on-site installation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for our projects. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on MEP systems, and the ability to ensure quality, safety, and compliance on site.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise on-site installation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
- Ensure all installations comply with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during installation.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports, documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams to ensure systems are operational.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site teams and subcontractors.
- Manage material procurement and inventory to avoid delays.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment installation.
- Proficiency in plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sanitary fixtures.
- Expertise in fire protection systems, including sprinklers, alarms, and suppression systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, IPC).
- Strong project management and site supervision skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures for MEP systems.
