About the role
Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating hazards on project sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough safety inspections of construction sites and equipment
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Develop and update safety procedures and documentation
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to prevent recurrence
- Provide safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel
- Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety practices
Technical Skills
- Risk assessment methodologies and techniques
- Knowledge of construction safety standards (OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with safety inspection tools and reporting software
- Understanding of hazardous material handling and fall protection systems
- Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis
