About the role
Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our construction team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety across all project sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop site-specific safety plans tailored to construction activities and hazards
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure readiness across the site
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation and records, including incident reports and inspection logs
- Review subcontractor safety practices to ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards
- Conduct toolbox talks to educate and reinforce safe work practices among all personnel
Technical Skills
- Hazard identification and control
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Construction site inspection and audit techniques
- Knowledge of local and international construction safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001)
- Safety documentation and reporting tools
- Emergency response planning and first aid/CPR certification (preferred)
