Introduction
A Junior MEP Mechanical Procurement Engineer is responsible for supporting the mechanical procurement process within construction projects. This role focuses on sourcing reliable suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring that HVAC and mechanical materials are delivered in line with project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers for mechanical and MEP-related materials.
- Coordinate with project managers and site teams to determine material requirements.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
- Review and compare quotations from suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and manage procurement documentation and maintain accurate records.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical MEP components.
- Ability to prepare and analyze Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Cost estimation and cost-control principles.
- Reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings.
- Supplier negotiation and vendor management skills.
