Introduction

We are looking for a junior cashier to serve as the first point of contact for customers at our checkout area. The ideal candidate will handle daily transactions efficiently, maintain accurate cash records, and deliver a welcoming and respectful customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and make them feel welcome upon arrival
• Complete payment transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system
• Handle cash, credit cards, and mobile payments securely
• Treat all customers with courtesy, patience, and respect
• Follow safety, security, and disciplinary procedures at all times
• Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth service flow
• Keep the checkout area organized and well-stocked with necessary supplies

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Experience with cash registers and cash handling
• Knowledge of payment processing (cash, card, mobile wallets)
• Accurate cash reconciliation and basic arithmetic skills
• Ability to use barcode scanners, receipt printers, and card payment terminals
• Understanding of safety and security procedures in a retail environment
• Basic computer literacy for transaction records and reporting
