Introduction

We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer specializing in piping and plumbing engineering to contribute to construction projects. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and overseeing mechanical systems with an emphasis on accurate cost estimation and efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for piping and plumbing systems in construction projects.
• Design and develop piping and plumbing layouts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts to guide cost estimation and system design.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation accuracy and resolve technical issues.
• Analyze material and labor costs, identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
• Maintain documentation of cost estimates, design changes, and project progress.

Technical Skills

• Piping and plumbing engineering principles and best practices.
• Cost estimation tools and software (e.g., RSMeans, CostX, or similar).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or other mechanical design software.
• Knowledge of construction codes and standards (e.g., IPC, UPC, ASME).
• Understanding of material specifications for pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
• Basic project management and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
